What's beef - 99 05 16
Over the last couple of weeks some more beef has emerge in the Hip Hop world, this time including two Wu Tang Clan members. The two sets of beef, 1. Method Man and all who use the name John Blaze and 2. Possibly Rza (Bobby Digital) and Kool Keith (Robbie Analogue) are set to take over from the almost dead beef between Tragedy and Noreaga which lasted for about a year and succeeded the beef between LL Cool J and Cannibus. In the current Hip Hop world there always seems to be beef between a few individuals and May 1999 is no different. For years I have been saying to people all around the world, and I think i’ve even said it before in Say What, that Method Man has been extremely calm in the face of everybody stealing HIS name which he had in 1995 on Only Built For Cuban Linxs. Yes Johnny Blaze. Since then people have bitten the shit outta his name as some new word for fly, (ow his shit is John Blaze). Finally it seems Meth has had enough. In a recent report for Lee Bailey's EUR report Meth expressed his 'Extreme displeasure about all the people who have been capitalising off his name 'John Blaze', especially in respect to the bitches who launched clothing in that name. his exact word where 'My shit was like I’ll put my foot down I’m holding my sector down. from day one I told niggaz not to come on my block with that shit and trying to sell that synthetic garbage. And what niggaz do? they go and try to fuck wit that Johnny Blaze shit. they tried to fuck with it and make it something commercial. I was the first nigga ever to say crimi-naal, individu-aal, physic-caal. how many people ran with that shit and I never even got credit. they know who they is'. Now all I can and will say on this matter is BIG props to Meth for finally coming out and going off at all these who jacked his shit to the fullest, its only a shame you didn’t do it when it first started happening, cause it might have shot dead all this John Blaze shit right then and there. But it doesn’t end there the report went onto say that Meth had some 'choice words' for Derrick 'Madd Rapper' Angeletti (otherwise known as D Dot from the Hit Squad), this was because it was Derrick who was seen in the ads for this 'John Blaze' clothing line. (remember D-Dot was the one to use 'ow his shit is John Blaze' on one of the mad rapper skits on Biggie's album Life After Death). Meths words where 'You got that stinkin ass madd rapper playin a part in it. Derrick Angelette, he the madd rapper. Ill say that on record. Let him come and try to slap me up. Ill kick his fuckin ass! (making reference to D-Dot and his crew when they beat down a magazine editor for his comments bout D-Dot) People using the term as slang terminology was peace, but as soon as the dough got involved and you got the magazine and the clothing line and its just like come on man. Old school rap cats and new school rappers all up there wearing some weakass clothes with my name on it!!!' Knowing D-Dot he wont sit and say nothing about these comments i’d be expecting this piece to blow up in the near future. The second piece is Rza and Kool Keith (the man with a million names). I’m taking this next piece from the Investigative Reports, so go there to check out the whole dilly. It seems that Kool Keith under the alias of Robbie Analogue seems to be recording a track dissing Bobby Digital. See everytime people start doing different shit in the rap game Kool Keith goes out and disses them for being stupid or different or whatever, after he saw Nas's Street Dreams video he was going around calling Nas a Pink Faggot for that fucking pink suit he wore in the video. Recently the Rza has been going around screaming out this fuck analogue message all over the world. However I know for a fact that the RZA owns the one of the most expensive mixing consoles in the world, a '9098', which costs upwards of US$1,000,000 and is a analogue console which he bought around 96, now maybe Kool Keith knows this as well as is kinda just trying to point out the irony to the RZA, but then again maybe not. Anyway this could be one of the more entertaining pieces of beef to be formed in the past few years, only time will tell. Finally these aren’t the only pieces of beef simmering on the griller at the moment, the feud between trag and Noreaga still doesn’t look like its been resolved and on the new Mobb Deep album they make a few possible references towards Keith Murray and a few others. That has been going on since Hell On Earth that feud right there, however at the moment the focus of the hip hop world is strongly on the above two feuds, only time will tell but we could be in for some fun. |
