While reading a article the other day by a guy called Adario Strange entitle ‘Death by Digital’ I decided to delve into the world of ‘cyber gangsters’ and hip hop. To my surprise I found many sites that openly state that the webmaster is a gangster.

This is something I look at and laugh. Many of these cats haven’t even seen a gun before let alone used it for any purpose.

December 16 1996 and the New York times does a article entitled ‘Prep school Gangsters’. This story delved into the ironic young underbelly of new yorks crime scene, exposing the odd relationship between the affluent kids of NY and the teens from the ‘ghettos and projects’. ’They cruise the city in chauffeured cars blasting rap, selling pot to class mates’, this article typifies a dynamic that has been at work within the hip hop community for quite some time. It can be argued that the primary reason rap music is making so much money is because hordes of affluent teenagers who buy the records, by the millions, are hypnotically enthralled by the drama of sex and violence, so much so that they actually want to become part of this world of poverty, death and despair..

I went to one site by a guy called ‘Netgangster’, this stupid wanna be fuck, (who has his own domain name, so he obviously has money) has this to say on his main page.

‘What up peeps? I still gotta give peeps a warning though coz this site does contains profanity. Its coz this page is hip hop related and some types of hiphop do contain swearing and depict violent scenes,. And for those of you who have parents that have blocking programs I made sure to swear on this page so tha fuckin program works. So don’t be sending me bitchy hate mails saying my page wouldn’t be on tha net....bal bal bal....

Another site, when reporting about Big L’s death said ‘You aint want no part of this’ and this guy was called ‘**** *****’, Yeh coming from where, The rich part of Queens?, some people need to wizenup.

Its shit like this that really gets me worked up obviously this cat has never seen no parts of the real shit before but he still wants to preclude and act like he has, that is a damm shame. And why cause they want to be seen as hard as the music they listen to.

However these ain’t one off situations. The other month I’m at a chat page somewhere cause I was bored and I was talking to this guy from ATL, when this guy came on saying he was reppin Harlem to the fullest, saying he was banging and shit, and how shit was mad hectic in the projects and stuff, so I pop him the million dollar question ‘What do you think of the Big Muthafucking L?’ (this was before he got tragically shitted on so only peeps that where true to the game or from Harlem would know about him) and you know what the guy replied ‘Ow, yeh they are aight’... right then and there I knew this cunt was full of shit. Damm he could have at least done some research on Harlem before he tried to rep it.

I just cant understand why people want to make themselves out to be living this life when they really aint?

However I still have two more example to present which are worse than this one. I know a lot of you people are from Sweden and as you know and I know there aint any Ghetto’s Projects or hoods in Sweden that even compare to NYC. However I had this guy on my ICQ list who ust to tell me how hectic shit was in his hood, and people were after him and shit, cause he had been fucking around with their cash flow and shit and you know where this guy lived?, In fucking Lappland, only hood he ever repped was the one that covered his head from snow.

Finally there is this cat I know who is just plain fucked, and I think you read this shit I write as well, so you know now how I feel about your fake camaraderie. This guy live in the like semi rural VA, he aint got a music store for 50 miles, and yet he tells people that he is from Queensbridge, cause ‘the bridge is in my heart’. If you get a mail form him it say Queensbridges..bla bal, this is just another one of these guys who simply want to look good on the net by telling people that they are hard and form the hood.

Truth beknown the closest to any hood you’ll get repped on the net is Astoria Queens, next to the bridge, half of that joint is a Little PJ, but the guys from there aint reppin how hard they are, cause they know they want to be in some mansion in long island, not in Astoria.

So what’s my point with all this?

Basically if you are one of these people who listens to hip hop but has never had any part of the life, wizen up to your self. It aight to listen to the music and feel what being said, but don’t start going around calling yourself names that don’t rep what you do on the net, if you aint from NY don’t put some NYC shit into your name, if you aint seen the game don’t make your name seem that you have,

Basically keep it real to yourself and don’t front to yourself and on peeps that are packing steel.
