Poems Page 1

This is a song I wrote during the Autum 1998. One day I was thinking about the past and recalled a meeting with a young Catholic guy on a streetcorner in Richmond, Surrey, England.

Do You Know the Son

I met a young Cathīlic in Richmond
religious and so wellbehaved.
Puzzled he heard my confession
"I am born again - I am saved"
With a challenging scorn
he said "How do you know?"
I said: "How do you know you are born?"

You have heard of Jesus
but do you know Godīs Son?
He is not religion or a doctrin for a few.
Though you might not know it
Heīs your best friend in this world
with a loving heart that cares and bleeds for you

In a dirty old prison in Sweden
a guy read a book in his cell
titled "The Cross and the Switchblade"
a tale of the New York hell,
were the heroin slaves
was delivered by love,
when they heard of the Jesus that saves.

You have heard of Jesus...

Off course he was moved by the message
struck at the core of his heart
"Could this be real" was his question
or just too good for his part.
In his heart he could feel
that a new hope was born,
He cried: God are you there are you real?

You have heard of Jesus...

Thereīs no way to give explanation
of the miracle change in his life,
powerfull deep transformation
a new man - and free from his strife.
For the people around,
it was hard to believe
but for years heīs been healthy and sound.

You have heard of Jesus...

That I am this man of the story
youīve probably already guessed.
And thatīs what I told the young fellow
cause I wanted to see him blessed
So what will you say?
as I bid you to come,
will you open your heart now and pray?

You have heard of Jesus
but do you know Godīs Son?
He is not religion or a doctrin for a few.
Though you might not know it
Heīs your best friend in this world
with a loving heart that cares and bleeds for you
