God called Svenna Lysgard to be Evangelist & Entertainer
As the entertainer and evangelist Svenna enters the stage - dullness, boredom and indifference hits for
the emergency-exit. The audience, wether prisoners, students, businessmen or churchmembers, will be
spellbound. There is laughter and tears - no eye will stay dry.
No matter if its in a churchmeeting or on TV facing millions - Svenna amuses both Christians and
heathens.
What kind of clown is this? You may wonder. "Well, I’m the Clown of the Lord Jesus Christ. The
Clown is the figure who knows about the tragedy and sorrow but finds a way to peoples hearts with a
smile and a laugh." says Svenna, adding: "If you cant be as you ought you have to be as you
yourself!"
He’s been entertainer since childhood. In school he had to do it to avoid mobbing. Later, as a popular
figure among the teenagers in Oslo, Norway, where he spent his adolescence. Everybody wanted
Svenna to come along for their party cause they knew he would make it a success. Svenna became a
hippie, rockmusiscian, achieved fame and was headed for success.
But it never worked out that way. Svenna got hooked on drugs and ended up in a psychiatric
institution. In the meantime his Christian mother prayed to God for him. In the early 70-ies he met
with the Jesus-people. Young hippies, just like himself, still very different. In their eyes he could see a
brilliant light and love from their hearts warmed Svennas heart. He was deeply touched - his mothers
prayers was answered - the young boy was saved and filled with the Holy Spirit.
God called Svenna to be the Lords entertainer, soulwinner and witness - to sing and preach the gospel.
Since then he’s travelled all over the world having concerts in schools, prisons, churches,
business-meetings, on Radio and TV. Svenna is quite familiar with any kind of environment and
audience. More than 30 years experience has refined him into a unique artist and messenger - an
entertainer with a lifechanging message from heart to heart. Svenna does anything from rock´n roll to
opera. He has created most of the music and lyrics on his repertoire.
Svenna has just finished his 9th record, a CD called "Compassion", with a message to people who has
been through pain and difficulties. "My hearts desire is for the record to have a healing impact as you
listen," Svenna says.
One of the great moments in his career was during a visit to Nashville, USA, to produce a new record.
One night he got the opportunity to sing and testify at the Grand Ole Opry, the Mecca of Country &
Western music. The concert ended with a message and was turned into a revival-meeting as hundreds
of people lifted their hands to receive Jesus as their Saviour.
Many of his great moments in life has occurred during concerts in prison. He never will forget the
womens prison in Hungary. Deeply touched, speechless, with tears running down his cheeks, he saw
the tough women stand up to leave their old lives and start a new as they received Jesus into their
hearts.
Svenna sings and speaks English, Norwegian and Swedish. But his musical talent, his humour, his
bodylanguage and yodel-singing, is international and popular with all agegroups. Everybody - wether
young or old - cant help but to love Svenna.
